This Saturday is full of events.
On 11th October communities around the world will be standing together against fracking in the first Global Frackdown Event. All around the world communities are affected by this environmentally destructive industry which leaves behind water contamination, air pollution and health problems. Whatever the industry want you to believe it is also a dirty fossil fuel which shouldn’t be embraced in the current climate crisis.
Join the Global Frackdown event in London at Golden Square, Soho, London W1R 3AD, from 11:00 to 13:30. More details about fracking here. If you’re not in London see if an event is happening near you or start your own event. Details here!
The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) is a proposed free trade agreement debated behind closed doors by the EU and US. If agreed it would grant corporations the power to sue governments, threatening to lock-in the privatisation of public services, such as schools and NHS in the UK. Rules that protect workers, the environment, food safety, digital rights and privacy would be deeply undermined, and harmful industries such as fracking would be encouraged.
